Map Your Early-Warning Signs of Dysregulation

✦ CORE PATH
This experiment builds the single most valuable document you will make all year. Take paper. Three columns.
Column one — BODY PRECURSORS: recall your last three times above or below the window (a blowup, a shutdown, a spiral). Where did arousal gather FIRST, before you knew you were going? Write locations and sensations: “jaw,” “stomach drop,” “chest heat,” “throat lump”…
Column two — BEHAVIOR TELLS: what did you DO in the hour before? Cleaning? Phone-checking? Sharp jokes? Task-hopping? Cancellation? List honestly…
Column three — THOUGHT FLAVOR: what was the taste of your thoughts just before? “Why bother”? “Everyone always”? Planning escapes? Counting grievances? Name the flavors…
Now read your three columns together and distill ONE sentence: “When my ___ starts ing and I start , I am at the rim.”
Check the map against history: does this signature match at least two of the recalled incidents independently? If yes, you have isolated a genuine early-warning pattern — your system’s own siren, previously unlabeled…
Post the sentence somewhere private. This week, when the signature fires, you own one new option you never had before: catching yourself AT THE RIM instead of waking at the bottom.
Conclusion: detection speed is emotional skill. You have not changed your window today — you have installed the radar that lets every other change work.
Closing formula: you cannot stop storms, but you can learn the barometer — and barometer-owners leave the harbor before the fleet even feels the wind.
Next: SIBAM — the five canals through which your body files experience, and why some wounds were never filed as words at all.
