Settled Nervous System

Settled Nervous System — the book

Settled Nervous System — book cover

The End of the War Nobody Told You About — a practical, exhaustive book of nervous-system healing.

You are not broken. You are protected.

That anxiety, that shutdown, that compulsion, that rage at the people you love — none of it is malfunction. It is your nervous system running protections it installed long ago, still fighting a war that ended years back.

Four maps. One territory. Fifty-seven experiments you verify on your own body.

Then it does what most books never do: it follows those maps into your real days. Work. Money. Food. Screens. Love. Family. Anger. Sleep. Every chapter ends in something to do, not something to believe.

Written from experience, not just theory. The author spent twenty years on the spiritual path feeling something was still missing — until the maps converged and, for the first time, the deepest layer got met and allowed to finish. This is the book he spent two decades looking for.

Frequently asked

Is this therapy?

No — and it never pretends to be. It is education and practice, designed to travel alongside professional care, never instead of it. If you carry severe trauma or are in crisis, arrange support first; the book itself insists on it.

Is the science real?

The book is honest about what is established (polyvagal mechanisms, memory consolidation, exposure and completion), what is a teaching model (the six gears are the author’s graduation of Porges’ circuits — stated openly in Chapter 4), and what remains debated. One full chapter (37) is devoted to scientific validity, honest vocabulary and the limits.

I’m too exhausted to read a whole book.

That’s why the Minimum Path exists: five stops, one month. Many people have changed their lives with less. See the reading paths.

Why birth matrices? Isn’t that fringe?

The book treats Grof’s model as a map, not a dogma — one gate at a time, with an honest chapter on what supports it and what doesn’t. Deep is deeper, not better; the deep end is optional by design.

What’s inside, concretely?

57 experiments (each under five minutes), the ten most common adult profiles, correspondence tables from symptoms to stories in both directions, a full emergency kit of seven protocol cards, and reading plans by profile.
